Planet Safe Vibe

Our story

A kitchen-table idea that grew into a greener Bashundhara.

We are a small team of neighbours, designers and makers who believe sustainable living in Dhaka should feel practical, joyful and affordable — not preachy.

What we believe

“Nobody needs to be a perfect environmentalist. We need millions of imperfect ones.”

— the note pinned above our refill counter

Planet Safe Vibe began when our founders counted the plastic leaving one Bashundhara flat in a single week: 41 bags, 19 sachets and 11 bottles. None of it was necessary; all of it was convenient.

We opened a small stall at a weekend market selling bamboo brushes and jute bags. People kept asking for refills, then for advice, then for help at their offices. The stall became a shop, the shop grew a refill bar, and the advice became our Green Services.

We are proudly local: most of what we sell is grown, woven, fired or poured in Bangladesh, and every product earns its place through a month of real use in our own homes.

How we grew

From one stall to a neighbourhood habit

01

The seed

A weekend market table with 40 bamboo toothbrushes, 20 jute bags and a handwritten sign that said ‘ask us anything’.

02

The stall

Regulars asked for refills of dish soap and lentils. We added six gravity bins — and a queue formed on Saturdays.

03

The studio

We moved into Plot 189, Bashundhara Main Road, with a proper refill bar, a workshop table and a maker shelf.

04

August 2026

Today we serve over 1,250 households, 30 offices and a growing list of schools across Dhaka.

Our values

Four promises we keep, even when it’s inconvenient.

Radically honest

If a product is only ‘less bad’, we say so on the shelf card. No greenwashing, no vague claims.

Local first

We pay Bangladeshi makers fairly and on time — most within seven days of delivery.

Affordable swaps

Every category includes an option under ৳200 so no one is priced out of trying.

Circular by design

Jars come back, boxes are reused, and scraps from our studio feed our own compost.

Our makers

Sixty-four artisans, five districts, one rule: made to last.

Jute bags from Tangail, bamboo combs from Sylhet, terracotta from Savar, coconut-shell bowls from Barishal and cold-process soaps poured in Mirpur. We visit every workshop before we stock a single item.

What we will never do

Our ‘no’ list is as important as our shelf.
