Planet Safe Vibe

Our impact

Every jar, bag and compost bin — counted and shared openly.

Sustainability claims mean little without numbers. Here is what our community has achieved, what we are still working on, and how we measure it. Figures updated August 2026.

Our programmes

Four programmes, one measurable goal: less waste leaving Dhaka homes.

Each programme is funded by 2% of shop revenue and by volunteers who give their Saturdays.

Greening

Native Tree Circle

Monthly planting days with residents’ associations, focusing on native species such as neem, jarul, krishnachura and arjun that cool streets and shelter birds.

Recovery

Take-Back Counter

Return jars, bottles, worn-out jute and dead batteries at our studio. We route each stream to verified recyclers and publish where it goes.

Awareness

Plastic Audit Walks

Guided walks along Bashundhara lakesides where volunteers log brand names on litter — data we share with manufacturers and city officials.

Growing

Seed & Sapling Library

Borrow seeds and saplings for your balcony, return seeds from your harvest. Over 90 local varieties are in circulation.

Targets for December 2026

Where we are against the goals we set publicly

We set these targets with our community at our annual open meeting. Progress below reflects our count as of 31 August 2026.

38,400 so far 77%
3,000 saplings planted
2,140 so far 71%
100 offices on bulk refills
30 offices 30%
25 schools with eco-clubs
14 schools 56%
Zero landfill waste from our studio

Method

How we measure (and what we don’t claim)

Weighed, not guessed

Compost and returned materials are weighed at the counter and logged in a shared sheet anyone can request.

Receipts as evidence

‘Items refused’ counts only purchases where a refill or reusable replaced a packaged product at our till.

Saplings tracked

Each planting site is photographed at 6 and 12 months; we report survival rates, not just planting numbers.

No offsets

We do not buy carbon credits or claim to be ‘carbon neutral’. We focus on cutting waste at the source.

The best impact report is your own balcony compost.

Start with one swap this week. We will help with the next nine.
